TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting "Chapter 16 City of Maricopa Zoning Code" by reference as Articles 101 through 602 of Chapter 16 of the Maricopa City Code and repealing all previously adopted provisions of Chapter 16 of the Maricopa City Code, authorizing the Development Services Director to make administrative corrections to scrivener's errors as identified from time to time and providing for severability and the effective date thereof. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
On December 19, 2012, the Mayor and City Council awarded a contract to Dyett & Bhatia Urban and Regional Planners to rewrite Article 16 of the City Code, City of Maricopa Zoning Code. Since the award of the contract significant public outreach and stakeholder input has resulted in the Zoning Code Rewrite Public Hearing draft, Ordinance 14-12. The draft Zoning Code before you is the final product representing the policy direction received from the Heritage District Advisory Committee, the Zoning Code Rewrite Task Force, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. These advisory bodies have reached consensus on the draft Code and recommend the City Council adopt Zoning Code Rewrite Public Hearing draft, Ordinance 14-12.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council formally adopt "Chapter 16 City of Maricopa Zoning Code" by reference as Articles 101 through 602 of Chapter 16 of the Maricopa City Code and repealing all previously adopted provisions of Chapter 16 of the Maricopa City Code, authorizing the Development Services Director to make administrative corrections to scrivener's errors as identified from time to time and providing for severability and the effective date thereof.
