TITLE

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending the City of Maricopa Fire/Medical Deparment Fee Schedule pertaining to plan reviews, modifications of monitoring systems, inspections, stop work orders, fuel storage tanks, L-P gas cylindars, spraying or dipping, compressed gas storage, access gates and false alarms.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Maricopa Fire and Medical Department has conducted a comprehensive review of the departments current fire fees. Upon completion of the review, the fire department concluded that some current fire fees need to be increased to address the increased staff time and resource demand for inspection and plan review services. Working with Development Services, the department also concluded that some new fire fees should be added due to increased residential and commercial expansion within the city. The new fee structure includes anticipated expansion of fire prevention services in the plan review and inspection areas. The department included a thorough fire fee comparison to other valley fire departments and feel that these fees are very competitive with what those fire department organizations are charging for like services.
