TITLE:

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action to approve the first amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Pinal County for access to County property along West Edwards Avenue for the installation of a new 6-foot-high decorative residential pre-cast concrete wall. Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION:

The City executed the original IGA with Pinal County in July 2022 to grant the City access to County property to install a new wall. This amendment to the agreement replaces the previously approved concrete masonry unit (CMU) fence with a new 6-foot-high decorative residential pre-cast concrete wall.

The project is located along the north side of the Pinal County Housing Authority Facility on the south side of West Edwards Avenue. The improvements include a base bid for the construction of 780 lineal feet of pre-cast concrete wall and a bid alternate for the construction of 282 lineal feet of pre-cast concrete wall. The construction phase will take approximately 6 months to complete. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2023.

The City of Maricopa has been awarded a federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the State of Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) and the construction of the project is funded in this fiscal year, FY23, in the amount of $202,610 ($182,610 from 352-Grant and $20,000 from 350-CIP).

This item will be presented by the Engineering Project Manager, Tammy Valadez Paz.
