TITLE

An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending Section 3.65.150 of the Maricopa City Code regarding cooperative purchasing.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

Section 3.65.150 of the City Code allows the City to use cooperative purchasing through or with agencies of the United States, the state of Arizona or its political subdivisions instead of completing a separate bidding process.  Currently, there is a restriction stating that the bid must have been complete within 12 months of the proposed award date.  Bids completed by other entities and by the City often have a term of several years which makes this 12 month restriction inefficient and unnecessary.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends approved of the Ordinance to revise Section 3.65.150 of the City Code.
