TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending Section 2.15.130 of the Maricopa City Code relating to standing committees. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The proposed changes to Chapter 2 (i) rename the Transportation Advisory Committee to be consistent with the zoning code revisions, (ii) address the statutory requirements of boards and committees, such as PSPRS, which have a different number of members and eligibility requirements; (iii) removes the restriction that members cannot be a member of another board, committee or commission or council to allow Council to serve as the BOA and P & Z to serve as the Transportation Advisory Committee, and removes the requirement to complete Maricopa Citizens Academy and (iv) clarifies the term of a member continues until a vote of council in the event the nominating member of council leaves.
The appointment of Council as the BOA and the P & Z as the Transportation Advisory Committee will be included on a future agenda.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
