TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Electric District No. 3 (ED3) of Pinal County, Arizona and City of Maricopa for the relocation of electric facilities for the Sonoran Desert Parkway project. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City is in the process of constructing the Sonoran Desert Parkway road project. The project requires the relocation of the existing overhead electric power lines on Farrell Road. Through this IGA, ED#3 agrees to relocate the existing overhead electric power lines along the north side of Farrell Road between SR 347 and Porter Road at their cost to accommodate the Sonoran Desert Parkway project. In the future, any necessary relocation of these facilities will be at the City’s sole cost and expense until such relocation is required to be completed by a third party. If a third party is responsible for such relocation including, but not limited to, the requirement to underground the electric power lines with development in the area, the City shall be permitted to require such relocation by the third party.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve the (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and the Electric District No. 3 (ED3).
