TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for pavement improvements along Anderson Road and Peters and Nall Road. Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The City Council shall review and possibly approve Amendment Number One to the existing Intergovernmental Agreement with ADOT for additional Federal-Aid funds. On 4/12/2021, the City entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with ADOT to construct pavement improvements on Anderson Road, Maricopa Casa Grande Highway to Peters and Nall Road; and on Peters and Nall Road, Antone Street to Anderson Road. This project is federally funded with Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds.

Based upon an updated construction cost estimate from ADOT, the City requested an additional $630,282 of Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) close-out funding. On 3/14/2022 the City was awarded $630,282 of additional Federal-Aid funding which included a 5.7% local match ($594,356 Federal funding, $35,926 local funding). The local funding for the project will be drawn from Transportation Development Impact Fees (Accounting string 34655151-67755-40036).

Additional amendments may be needed if future project estimates (or bids) come back in excess of the currently estimated amount, as approved by MAG.

This item will be presented by Ben Bitter.
