TITLE

An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending Section 3.10.090 of the Maricopa City Code relating to the appointment of assistant city managers and providing for severability and the effective date thereof.  Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The City Code currently authorizes the City Manager to appoint one or more assistant city managers who serve at the pleasure of the manager and have such duties as the manager delegates.  Given the growth and organization of the City, the City Manager should also be authorized to appoint one or more deputy city managers who serve at the pleasure of the manger and have such duties as the manager delegates.  This ordinance revised the code to authorize the City Manager to appoint both assistant city manager and deputy city managers.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

City staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
