TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on recommending approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for an Application for Special Event Liquor License submitted by Pat Kieny on behalf of Native Grill & Wings for a special event known as the CopaCultural Night Market on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Copper Sky Regional Park 44345 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control requires that an Application for Special Event License be approved by local government before submission to their office.

In preparation for the CopaCultural Night Market that is planned for March 26, 2022 at Copper Sky, Pat Kieny has applied for Councils' consideration in recommending approval for the special event liquor license.

The concept of the event is to celebrate diversity and the Arts. This will be the City's inaugural multi-cultural event and will focus on cultural entertainment and performances from three different stages, opportunities to showcase ethnic traditions and demonstrations, food offerings with diverse ethnic cuisine, artisans and market vendors, and an art gallery sponsored by the Maricopa Friends of the Arts. We will be charging for parking and strongly encouraging pre-sale parking and complimentary shuttle service.  This event will follow CDC-recommended guidelines for large gatherings.

This item will be presented by Nathan Ullyot, Community Services Director.
