AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

This agenda item is for the Public Hearing only.  The  request for Council approval to apply for the Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Section 5311 grant application is included as a separate agenda item in the February 15, 2022 Regular City Council meeting.

The City has operated a transit system comprised of various services since 2008.  Today we operate fixed route and “Dial-A-Ride” type services.  The Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2023 application (two-year application) will request funding funded at current levels.  All funding is contingent upon Council approval during the normal budget cycle.

As a requirement of this application, the City of Maricopa is required to hold a Public Hearing and seek public comment on the grant application for transit services in the community.

This item will be presented by Public Services Director Mike Riggs.
