TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on entering into a Joint Agreement with Pinal County regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

Based on the recent 2020 census data, Maricopa is now eligible to participate in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program. The CDBG Entitlement Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low-and moderate-income persons.

The City wishes to accept entitlement status and enter into a Joint Agreement with Pinal County to administer the CDBG Entitlement Program for federal fiscal years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

City staff recommends approval to enter into a Joint Agreement with Pinal County regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program.
