TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and the State of Arizona for design and construction of pavement improvements on Anderson Road - Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway to Peters and Nall Road, and Peters and Nall Road - Anderson Road to Antone Street. This project is partially funded with Congestion Management Air Quality (CMAQ) funds with a total estimated project cost of $641,014, which includes $604,476 in federal funds and a 5.7% local match of $36,538. Funding for the local match will be drawn from Transportation DIF 2-Public Works, Street Projects-Capital, CMAQ Paving Anderson and Peters Nall (34655151-67750-40036) and Transportation DIF 2-Public Works, Design Services-Street Projects, CMAQ Paving Anderson and Peters Nall (34655151-67755-40036). AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The work proposed under this IGA consists of the design and construction of roadway paving and installing aggregate base course, two applications of chip seal, pavement markings, signing, erosion control, and other related work.
The IGA designates the State of Arizona, acting by and through its Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), to serve as the City’s authorized agent for the roadway project and allows the use of federal funds for the project. The State will administer the design and construction of the project. The Total Estimated Project Cost is $641,014 and the City’s funding match is estimated at $36,538. If the final Project Costs exceed the estimated project cost, the City is responsible for, and agrees to pay, any and all actual costs exceeding the estimated costs.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve the IGA between the State of Arizona and the City of Maricopa for the design and construction of pavement improvements on Anderson Road - Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway to Peters and Nall Road, and Peters and Nall Road - Anderson Road to Antone Street.
