AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this Design Standards Manual is to provide applicants and their designers with a minimum set of the design requirements to guide them with development of public and private infrastructure within the City of Maricopa and to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens and visitors of the City.

Staff solicited input from 146 individuals consisting of previous applicants for development projects within the City, private utilities, industry associates, and department heads to provide diverse backgrounds and perspectives on the Design Standards Manual.  In addition to a four-week review period, City staff conducted a virtual meeting to provide an overview of the manual and had a dedicated web article with content kept up to date during the outreach efforts.  Staff received 63 comments from seven commenters.  Where comments resulted in changes to the manual, they have been incorporated.

This item will be presented by City Engineer Joshua Plumb.
