A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, committing local funds as leverage for a FY2019 Community Development Block Grant application. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
On June 18, 2019, the Mayor and Council approved Resolution 19-30 authorizing the submission of an application to the State Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) for the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funds for FY2019 for Heritage District Neighborhood Projects.
This resolution commits funds to assist in the completion of the Heritage District Neighborhood Revitalization Pershing Street Improvements for a total estimated cost of the project is $502,844. The total award from ADOH is $182,844 and the total amount leveraged from the City of Maricopa is $320,000. This amount was approved during the FY19-20 budget process on June 4, 2019 as part of the Capital Improvement Plan from both the HURF Fund (20044146-67750-34025) and County Road Tax Fund, Streets - Capital Projects (30044146-67750-34025).
The CDBG program requires all local leveraged funds and resources be committed in the form of a resolution by the governing body.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution and a commitment to use HURF, Streets-Capital Project -Pershings-Maricopa Casa Grande Highway Project (20044146-67750-34025) and County Road Tax Fund, Streets- Capital Project (30044146-67750-34025)as leverage for the FY2019 Community Development Block Grant Application.
