AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Maricopa Fire & Medical Department has conducted extensive research into replacing E574, which is the oldest front line apparatus on the department. After thoroughly reviewing all of the data, speaking with other valley departments, seeking the best strategic operational alternative when considering how to best replace E574, the apparatus committee unanimously identifed a 107' Pierce Ascendant Quint as the best operational and strategic replacement the department and city can purchase.

The determination by the committee involved considering the long term strategic plans for both the city and the department. This vehicle is a very versatile replacement for the current engine. Its versatility will be an asset for possibly increasing our ISO rating to a "1", be the best operational option for the new incoming hotel, assisted living residency, and the multi-sotry commerical/residential building all slated for the Copper Sky area. The ability of this apparatus to operate as an engine/pumper and aerial ladder illustates the operational and functional versatility, and also encompasses great strategic planning for both our current and future service provision. With the city growing by leaps and bounds, possessing a vehicle with this versatility will help address current and future growth impacts and city expansion.
