The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to ratify a Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona designating the City’s Financial Services Manager as the Chief Financial Officer for purposes of submitting the City's Annual Expenditure Limitation Report to the Auditor General. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa Mayor and City Council shall discuss and potentially ratify a resolution agreeing to designate the City’s Financial Services Manager as the CFO for the purposes of submitting the City’s Annual Expenditure Limitation Report (AELR) to the Auditor General and certifying to the accuracy of the report.
Arizona Revised Statutes §41-1279.07(E) requires each county, city, town, and community college district to annually provide to the Auditor General by July 31 the name of the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) the governing board designates to submit the City’s Annual Expenditure Limitation Report (AELR) and certify to the accuracy of the report.
Proposal must address:
1) The City’s Financial Services Manager, Angele Ozoemelam, is hereby designated as the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) for purposes of submitting the City’s Annual Expenditure Limitation Report (AELR) to the Auditor General and certifying to the accuracy of the report.
2) This designation shall be in effect for the AELR for fiscal year 2018-19 and fiscal year 2019-20.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
City staff recommends Council ratify the Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona supporting the submission of to designate the City’s Financial Services Manager as the CFO for purposes of submitting and certifying the AELR for fiscal years 2018-19 and 2019-20.
