The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation displaying the design concept for the new City of Maricopa website. Discussion only.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City contracted with Vision, who was bought out by Granicus, to redesign the City website. Granicus began the project in October by analyzing how residents are using our site through surveys and website analytics data.
Granicus took all of this information and created a layout and navigation structure that fits our community, is easy to use and is usable on all devices. They collaborated with City staff to ensure the design of the site reflects City branding and visually accentuates the positive attributes of our community.
Once the design concept is finalized Granicus will begin the programming of the website and migrate our content to the new site. Granicus will come out for an end-user training showing representatives from each department how to update the site. We will then go through a testing phase and then a public launch.
Granicus provides ongoing training opportunities and periodic analytics reports to show how our site is performing. They will host our site and ensure that the code is up to date to work across all browsers. The contract also includes annual credits to make additional site improvements as needed.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council view the design concept and ask any questions they have concerning the new website.
