TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the Final Report-Phase III - Area Transportation Plan - Access Management.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Phase III Access Management Study is a continuation of the Maricopa Area Transportation Plan (ATP).  The ATP created the planned transportation network for milestone years to buildout, and depicts the arterials needed for this network.  The Access Management Study further completes the plan by providing recommended spacing between collector streets and by creating a plan for signalization that allows the transportation machine (network) to function as one efficient unit.

Council approved a budget of $99,868 for this study, with a 12-month contract period.  If approved by council, it will become an amendment to the ATP Final Report, August 2015.  The results of this study were presented to the Transportation Advisory Committee in September 2018, and the Final Report was presented to Council on February 5, 2019.

The attached powerpoint presentation is for reference only.  It was presented to Council on February 5, 2019.

This item is presented by Acting Development Services Director Kazi Haque and David R. Maestas, Transportation Policy Manager.
