TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the Maricopa Transit Study Final Report.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The $75,000 Maricopa Transit Study was made possible by award of Section 5311 Transit Planning funds from Arizona Department of Transportation. Of this amount, $60,000 was directly funded by 5311 and the remaining $15,000 was in-kind Maricopa staff work that satisfied the local match requirement.

This study had two objectives:  (1) Analysis of internal transit demand, and (2) Analysis of potential commuter demand between Maricopa and the Phoenix metropolitan area and west-central Pinal County.  The 12-month study was completed and the final report was presented to City Council at Work Session on February 5, 2019.

The attached powerpoint presentation is for reference only.  This presentation was made to Council on February5, 2019.

This item is presented by Acting Development Services Director Kazi Haque and David R. Maestas, Transportation Policy Manager.
