TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation of the Final Report, Phase III Access Management Study, Area Transportation Plan, by Wilson & Company, consultant for this project.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Phase III Access Management Study was undertaken to provide a systematic plan to connect collector streets to arterial roadways, and a plan for traffic signal spacing and placement to optimize traffic flow throughout the city.  A budget of $99,868 was approved by Council for this study.

The Phase III study effort was conducted within the incorporated limits of Maricopa, with the intention that if the concept proved viable, with Council’s approval, the entire Municipal Planning Area (MPA) would be studied and an Access Management Plan would be created  for the entire Maricopa MPA.

The Phase III concept was presented to the Transportation Advisory Committee in September 2018, and was recommended to go forward to Council for consideration for approval.

This item is presented by Acting Director of Development Services, Kazi Haque, and David R. Maestas, Transportation Policy Manager.
