US Department of Justice - Office of Community Oriented Policing Services STOP School Violence Prevention Program Award in the amount of $147,365.00 over a two-year award period.  Matching Requirement - $49,122.00 has been budgeted in 350.22122.67744.38017 - Capital Project Fund - Police Uniformed - Computer Equipment/Software.  Grant funding will be used to purchase and install updated technology for expedited notification to the City of Maricopa Police Department.  This will allow the City to monitor through its 911 Operation Center.

 

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends approval of the US Department of Justice - Office of Community Oriented Policing Services STOP School Violence Prevention Program grant in the amount of $147,365.00.  Due to the nature of this grant, the US Department of Justice requires the Mayor to submit his signature electronically; therefore, this item requires Council approval.
