The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation about changes to the business license process which is to be replaced with the Business Registry Program. Discussion only.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Business and entrepreneurship drive innovation and economic growth in American cities and Maricopa is no exception. The energize business growth with smart, business-friendly regulation while ensuring public safety and strong customer protection.
The current process is redundant and unnecessary. In January of 2017 the state of Arizona began collected Transaction Privilege Tax information and is able to capture TPT that should be allocated to the City of Maricopa.
The Business Registration Program (BRP) is intended to track what types of businesses exist in order to a viable economic future for Maricopa. BRP is designed to collect demographic information about the growing business community in a user-friendly format. Will provide data to the Economic Development Department which will provide a method to directly communicate with the business community. Staff would like to launch the new program January 2019.

3. Full Name of Business Owner/Representative
4. Primary Phone
5. Primary Email Address
6. Business Name/DBA
7. Physical Address of Business
8. Business Sector
9. Description of Business
10. Transaction Privilege Tax ID
11. Acknowledgement of Disclaimer

1. Welcome letter explaining the resources available
2. Business Retention and Survey
3. Site Selection Services
4. Business Education Series Workshops
5. Annual Business Directory
