AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City is currently designing a new Fire/Medical Administration Facility to be located at the northwest corner of Garvey Avenue and Estrella Parkway. The site is located immediately south of Fire Station 575 and east of the Public Works/Fleet/Fire Maintenance Facility. Perlman Architects is currently under contract to design the facility and Willmeng Construction has been selected to serve as the Construction Manager at Risk for the project. The City recieved 10 responses to a Request for Qualifications. A panel consisting of internal staff coupled with an outside contractor reviewed the submitals, scored each vendor and unaimously selected Willmeng as the preferred vendor.

The new facility will provide an approximate 8,350 square foot building for administration/office needs and an approximate 2,450 square foot building for warehouse/storage needs. The administration/office space shall include amenities such as offices, conference rooms, break room, training and classroom facilities, and restrooms. The site improvements shall include staff and visitor parking, landscape, hardscape, and perimeter security fencing. The project also includes the design and construction of a new apparatus storage bay on the east end of the Public Works/Fleet/Fire Maintenance Facility. The design and construction are anticipated to be complete by April 2020.

This item will be presented by Public Works Director/City Engineer William P. Fay.
