TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, declaring as a public record that certain document filed with the City Clerk and entitled "2018 Amendments to the City of Maricopa Zoning Code - Group Homes" relating to the establishment of rules and regulations for group homes operating within the City of Maricopa and amending certain provisions of Articles 401.24, 601 and 602.02 of the Maricopa Zoning Code. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Resolution 18-20 TXT18-01: A joint request by Dream Group Homes, Inc. - Ms. Margaret Jordan and Haven House AZ - Ms. Debbie Everett for a proposed text amendment to the Zoning Code, specifically, Article 410 Sec. 410.24 Residential and Group Care Homes, amending portions of the section to increase the occupancy, align with state laws, and to improve the clarity of regulations and process (Discussion and Action).
As part of this amendment staff is also recommending revisions to the Group Home use classification in Article 601 and the definition of Family in Article 602.02.
The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on August 13, 2018, and recommended approval on the proposed text amendment (TXT)18-01, Article 410.24 Residential and Group Care Homes, Article 601 Use Classifications and Article 602.02 List of Definitions.

Staff recommends that City Council approve the resolution to adopt the group home revisions as a public record.
