AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
In May 2018, the City Manager provided the Maricopa Fire Department consent to submit a grant application to Firehouse Subs Foundation. In July 2018, the Maricopa Fire Department received award notification and was presented with a Memorandum of Understanding to accept the funds.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was created to extend the Firehouse Subs mission to give back to the community from where the founders started, in the firehouse. Since Firehouse Subs was founded by firemen, what better way than to lend a helping hand to home town heroes. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was created to ease the burden of fire department, law enforcement and other emergency service entities by providing funding, resources and support. In order to accomplish its mission, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation:

1. Provides emergency service entities with life-saving equipment.
2. Provides prevention and educational tools to the public about the importance of fire safety, emergency services, and natural disaster preparedness in order to prevent disasters in the home and community.
3. Provides financial resources to individuals pursuing a career in public safety.
4. Provides ground assistance during disasters by feeding victims and medical workers on the scene.

This item will be presented by Brady Leffler, Fire Chief.
