AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Edison Road Extension project, which was completed on May 11, 2017, created a new roadway alignment from the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Edison Road to State Route 238 (Mobile Road).  The new improvements provided a new four-lane roadway through the City-owned property referred to as the Estrella Gin Business Park, and provided a two-lane roadway through the property owned by Santa Cruz Land Development, LLC which is located between the City-owned property and State Route 238.

During monsoon storms last year, drainage scour and erosion occurred at three separate locations along Edison Road which are now in need of repair.  The design engineer (EPS Group) and the contractor (Achen-Gardner) are assuming responsibility for the cost of the repairs at one of the locations.  The City and Maricopa Domestic Water Improvement District are responsible for the cost of repairs at the second location.  The contractor and the City are responsible for the cost of repairs at the third location.  The repair work needs to be completed before the monsoons storms this year so additional damage does not occur.

This item will be presented by Public Works Director/City Engineer William P. Fay.
