TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the Amendment to the 2017-2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa and the Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78, began negotiations in January 2017. Negotiations concluded in April 2017. This MOU Amendment is based on a series of meetings between management staff and the Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78. These meetings took place in accordance with the Meet and Confer Ordinance 11-09, Article VI of the City Code. The cost of this MOU is forecasted to be $27,511 for 2018-2019.
If approved, this Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78, will be in effect from May 13, 2018 through June 30, 2019. The Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78, have been professional during the negotiations, and their open communication and spirit of cooperation have been appreciated.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Mayor and Council approve the Amendment to the 2017-2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Maricopa Sergeants Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 78.
