AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The recruitment firm Springsted - Waters Executive Search was hired to execute the recruitment process for a new city manager. They will advertise the position, identify quality candidates, screen applications, conduct background and reference checks, academic verifications, and on-site interviews. Their fee for this process is $24,500. The additional $10,500 will be used for any travel expenses for candidates or the Mayor, Councilmembers or staff through this process.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Council approve funding for the recruitment of a City Manager in an amount not to exceed $35,000 and to authorize a transfer from contingency (10010000-99000) to City Manager, Professional and Occupational (10011115-53320) for the payment to Sprinsted - Waters ($24,500) and payment of necessary travel expenses ($10,500).
