TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving a contract with Superior Supply for purchase of rubber crack seal material to be used in upcoming crack sealing of City streets. This contract, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, will be funded from ½ Cent County Road Tax Fund, Transportation, Street Projects-Capital, Street Maintenance (30055155-67750-34005); is based on Yavapai County Contract No. 1722593; and is in compliance with City of Maricopa Purchasing Code, Article IV, Section 3-223, “Cooperative Purchasing.” Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Crack sealing is a sound, cost-effective preventive maintenance technique employed to extend the life of pavement. In an ongoing effort to reduce costs, staff has determined that purchasing the crack seal material separately from Superior Supply through a cooperative contract with Yavapai County is more cost-effective than having the application contractor provide the materials.
