AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

This request is to purchase One (1) 2018 Velocity PUC Pumper and will be assigned to Fire Station 575. Pumpers are essential for fire and EMS operations; they provide quick attack on fire suppression and the necessary equipment for search and rescue.    This Pumper is equipped with the latest extrication and EMS equipment which provides crews the resources they need for emergency operations.

This purchase is being requested in conjunction with the Fire Department fleet replacement schedule. The new Pumper is replacing a 2004 E-One Pumper that has served the City of Maricopa for 16 years.  The 2004 E-One Pumper will be sold approximately 1 year after the new pumper is in-service.

The selection process for this Pumper was provided by a committee of Seven Fire Fighters and Two mechanics.  This committee researched our current pumpers and pumpers throughout the valley to make the best decision for the City of Maricopa.  Our team expects this pumper to be in-service for 15 plus years. Approval of this request will enhance public safety by providing for emergency response.

This item will be presented by Chief Brady Leffler.
