TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the Second Amendment to the Consultant Agreement with Architekton for additional design services for the Copper Sky Police Substation totaling $23,250. This Second Amendment will increase the total fee to $560,690. The funding for the project will be drawn from General Government CIP Fund - Police Admin, Buildings, Maricopa PD Substation at Regional Park (35022121-67720-32016). Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Copper Sky Police Substation is a new facility which houses the 9-1-1 Communications and Emergency Operations Center and Evidence Processing/Storage for the Maricopa Police Department. The site is located directly north of the Copper Sky Recreation Complex, at the southeast corner of Bowlin Road and Greythorn Drive. The project started construction in May, 2015 and was completed in February, 2016. The Second Amendment includes the design for owner-requested enhancements to the new facility which includes but is not limited to: additional paved parking and driveway for the east secured parking lot, redundant refrigeration system and alarm for the evidence refrigerator and freezer, and other miscellaneous improvements.
