The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on proceeding with the request, by Brian Foose on behalf of 45030 LLC, for abandonment of portions of Wilson Avenue (Papago Street) and McDavid Road. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
As required by the City’s Abandonment application procedures, on September 5 the Mayor and City Council heard public comment(s) on case number ABDN17-01, a request by Brian Foose on behalf of 45030 LLC, to abandon portions of Wilson Avenue (Papago Street) and McDavid Road, located on the north side of Edwards Avenue, within the incorporated limits of the City of Maricopa. The site is shown on the Plat for the Resubdivision of Blocks 4, 5 and 6 of the Central Portion of the Townsite of Maricopa as recorded in Book 3 of Maps at Page 10 and more particularly described in the following attachment. The next step in this process requires staff to present its recommendation to Council, based on public input received, so Council may decide whether to proceed with the abandonment requested. Upon Council’s approval to proceed, an appraisal will be submitted to the City for review, and on November 7, Council will be asked to discuss and possibly take action on accepting the value as appraised and formally adopting resolution of the abandonment.

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve proceeding with the abandonment of those portions of Wilson Avenue and McDavid Road, as described.
