AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation by Chief Steve Stahl on the Maricopa Police Department (MPD) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Program.

In August 2017, MPD began training department personnel on the utilization of the department's first UAS Program.  MPD began training 5 employees on the duties of a pilot and 1 employee on the duties of a visual observer.  Initial training consists of eight four-hour training blocks.
