AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
In June of 2015, Pinal County made a contribution of $250,000 to the City for the relocation of the California Zephyr. This Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for a Job Order Contract and associated fees will provide for preconstruction and construction services for the California Zephyr Relocation. The proposed fee for the preconstruction and construction services is not-to-exceed $250,000. The existing railcar is currently located at the Maricopa Amtrak Station at the southeast corner of John Wayne Parkway (SR 347) and the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway. This project will relocate the California Zephyr railcar to a site that has yet to be determined.

Maricopa County currently has a Job Order Contract with Caliente Construction Inc. to provide general preconstruction and construction services, and staff intends to use the cooperative purchasing terms of this contract for the California Zephyr Relocation.
