TITLE

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This request is to purchase Two vehicles, One (1) 2017 Ford F250 Crew Cab 4X4 and will be assigned to Battalion 571. This vehicle is essential in providing a Battalion level Incident Commander for all hazard emergency incidents that include structure fires, emergency medical incidents, hazardous material releases, and technical rescues. This vehicle provides a stationary Command Post for emergency incident communications, ongoing risk management, and effective tracking of emergency responders. This vehicle will be equipped with a mobile computer terminal (MCT), Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC) bag, automatic external defibrillator (AED), two (2) self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA’s) and rehabilitation supplies.

This purchase is being requested in conjunction with the Fire Department fleet replacement schedule. The purchased truck will replace a 10-year old, 2007 Ford Crew Cab truck, which will be repurposed as Support Truck 571 carrying hazmat equipment. Approval of this request will enhance public safety by providing a quality first line vehicle for the Battalions to service the community.

The second vehicle, F250 Crew Cab is a utility vehicle used for supplies, towing trailers and day to day operations. This utility vehicle is replacing a 2005 F250 that is past its service life, this unit will be traded in to reduce cost.
