AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

As part of the City's annual maintenance program, Public Works’ street maintenance division identifies broken or heaved concrete that must be repaired.  Broken sidewalks may cause problems with ADA compliance and also may be tripping hazards.  Additionally, concrete repairs may be needed to supplement asphalt repairs when roads and the adjoining curbs and gutters settle.  This contract will allow Public Works to address necessary concrete repairs.

 

This item will be presented by Public Works Director/City Engineer William P. Fay.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve the contract renewal with DWA Construction Company, LLC, for various concrete repairs throughout the city.  Funding for this contract, in a total amount not to exceed $470,958, will be drawn from County ½ Cent, Transportation, Street Projects-Capital, Street Maintenance (30044146-67750-34005).  This contract is in compliance with City of Maricopa Purchasing Code Article IV, Section 3-215 "Bidding Procedure."
