TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the State of Arizona and the City of Maricopa for design and construction of roadway improvements for Farrell Road - Hartman Road to Maricopa Casa Grande Highway, and for Porter Road - Farrell Road to 1.9 miles south. The federal funds designated for the project are $2,066,658 for construction in 2018. The City’s funding match is estimated at $154,919 and will be drawn from the following budget line items: Transportation DIF1 Fund, Engineering, Design Services, CMAQ Farrell and Porter (32455155-67735-35062); Transportation DIF1 Fund, Engineering, Street Project, CMAQ Farrell and Porter (32455155-67750-35062); Transportation DIF 2 Fund, Engineering, Design Services, CMAQ Farrell and Porter (34655155-67735-35062); Transportation DIF 2 Fund, Engineering, Street Project, CMAQ Farrell and Porter (34655155-67750-35062); and Capital Improvement Grant Fund, Engineering, Street Project, CMAQ Farrell and Porter (35255155-67750-35062). AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The work proposed under this IGA consists of the design and construction of roadway paving and installing aggregate base course, two applications of chip seal, pavement markings, signing, erosion control and other related work.
The IGA designates the State of Arizona, acting by and through its Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), to serve as the City’s authorized agent for the roadway project and allows the use of federal funds for the project. The State will advertise, bid, award, and will administer the construction of the project. The plans, specifications and estimates for the project will be prepared by the City and will be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for approval, due the federal funding associated with the project. The Total Estimated Project Cost is $2,191,577. The City’s funding match, which is required to obtain the federal funds, is estimated at $30,000 for ADOT project management design review and $124,919 for construction. If the final Project Costs exceed the estimated project cost, the City is responsible for, and agrees to pay, any and all actual costs exceeding the estimated costs.
