AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

This action is for the Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving the purchase of E-Citation Technology including five (5) handheld devices, vehicle mounted printers, software and licensing.

The Maricopa Police Department has reviewed specifications of this technology and have found it to interface with the Spillman records management system and the AJAX records management system of the Maricopa City Court.  This technology will eliminate the need for officers and court personnel to enter the data for the same traffic citation once the citation is issued.  The electronic data will be populated from the drivers license and registration by scanning those documents.

The item is being presented by Police Chief Steve Stahl.
