AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This request is for one (1) 2017 Ford Escape, SE, 4WD, SUV vehicle to provide homebound library services for persons with special needs for Community Services (City of Maricopa Library). The purpose of the LSTA grant program is to strengthen the role libraries play in communities by positioning them as innovative and forward-looking community anchors with potential to address diverse community needs (human services [homebound library services], employment, economic development, and civic engagements). The City of Maricopa's Community Services Department (Library - Erik Surber) has reviewed the specifications and worked with the Purchasing Staff to research a cooperative contract for the purchase. It was determined that utilizing the cooperative contract provided by the State of Arizona was the best option. This contract was competitively solicited and awarded to Sanderson Ford effective April 1, 2017 and runs through March 31, 2018. The purchase of this vehicle will be paid for from a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), through the Arizona State Library Grant Program that was submitted and passed by City Council on March 1, 2016. File #GRA 16-05. Funding for this was previously approved on previous council agenda March 3, 2016 as File #GRA 16-05.

This item will be presented by Director Kristie Riester.
