The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation and provide direction to staff on amending codes pertaining to code enforcement procedures. Discussion Only.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This presentation will discuss amending all city codes pertaining to code enforcement procedures and will allow staff to issue civil citations when other enforcement procedures have failed. Historically, it can be very difficult to obtain successful results and bring violations into compliance because the process can take months before any real consequences are realized by the offender. By giving our code compliance officers the ability to issue civil citations, the City is giving them the tools they need to achieve these results in a much shorter amount of time, therefore improving the effectiveness of the City’s codes and improving the quality of life for our residents.
This item will be presented by Development Services Director Martin Scribner and Development Manager Robert Mathias.

Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council hear the presentation about amending codes pertaining to code enforcement procedures.
