TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving Amendment No. One to the existing Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and the State of Arizona through the Department of Transportation for the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Porter Road project. The purpose of this Amendment is to amend funding. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and the State of Arizona through the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) project along the Porter Road corridor within Maricopa was approved by City Council on June 21, 2016, and executed on July 5, 2016. Four schools are located within a 1.2 mile stretch along Porter Road, and the SRTS funding enables the City to complete a new SRTS study and corresponding maps for this area to improve the overall safety of the students and community members along Porter Road.
Pursuant to this Amendment, the City will receive funding in the amount not to exceed $75,440. The grant is a reimbursement grant and ADOT will reimburse expenditures at the 94.3% prorated percentage. The City will provide the remaining 5.7% as local match. Local match has been set aside in the CIP budget under the 350 org.
