AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Funding for adding new lighting to the pool, MultiGen Lawn and Ampitheater areas at Copper Sky was approved in the FY16/17 Capital Improvement Project Budget ($142,620) to increase safe use of these areas at night as well as increase rentable hours. After the quotes were submitted, the electrical contractors determined that additional SES panels and conduit would have to be installed, increasing the cost of these projects.

Staff received quotes from the two single source lighting companies (MUSCO and Qualite). MUSCO provided a less expensive quote with a better lighting package. Lights being requested are the newest generation of LED lighting which will reduce electrical costs and increase light intensity at the surface.

Since this project will increase the visibility and safety of park patrons during events, rentals, competitions and general use of the park, we would like to proceed utilizing funding that was allocated for the Community Services Master Plan ($100,000) and approved in the FY 16/17 Capital Improvement Budget and complete the much needed LED lighting project this fiscal year.

This item is being presented by Mike Riggs, Parks Manager.
