TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on accepting offers from the Arizona Department of Transportation to purchase four City-owned parcels needed for the completion of the State Route 347 Grade Separation Project. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the Summary Statement of Offer to Purchase and Improvement Reports Dated February 13, 2017, the City of Maricopa is accepting offers by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to purchase four City-owned parcels needed for the completion of the State Route 347 Grade Separation Project.  The four parcels and their offered purchase prices are:

 

                     Parcel 11-0979                                          $   212,772

                     Parcel 11-0999                                          $   250,000

                     Parcel 11-0966                                          $       9,050

                     Parcel 11-1015                                          $1,186,648

 

The City shall relinquish all claim and title to the above parcels including any improvements or property appurtenant to the property but not removed prior to transfer.  ADOT has performed property acquisition appraisals on all of the properties to arrive at these offer amounts.  ADOT is relocating the residents of Parcel 11-1015 (Fire Admin) to a new mutually selected site on Edison Road and (Park and Ride Shade Structures) to a location to be determined by the City.

Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council accept the offers from the Arizona Department of Transportation to purchase four City-owned parcels needed for the completion of the State Route 347 Grade Separation Project.
