TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall hear and discuss an update presentation by Andy Smith, Principal Planner, Pinal County Public Works, on the Pinal Regional Transportation Authority progress, the Regionally Significant Routes for Safety and Mobility (RSRSM) Study, and Safety and Mobility (Access Management).  Discussion Only.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Pinal Regional Transportation Authority (PRTA) effort is an initiative intended to coordinate regional transportation planning efforts and provide a dedicated revenue stream for transportation improvements in Pinal County by means of a new ½ cent transportation excise tax.  The Regionally Significant Routes for Safety and Mobility Study Update is an ongoing effort to preserve Right Of Way for critical roadway corridors identified in the original RSRSM Study.  The Safety and Mobility (Access Management) Update effort is to ensure that the proper balance is maintained between the competing demands for mobility and access. All of these county-wide efforts inform ongoing Transportation Planning efforts within and around the City of Maricopa, making it important that City decision makers are aware of any updates to those projects.

This item is presented by Development Services Director Martin Scribner and David R. Maestas, Transportation Planner.
