TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on entering into a Joint Litigation/Common Interest Agreement with the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, the City of Tucson, the City of Phoenix, the City of Tempe, the City of Chandler, Lake Havasu City, the City of Bisbee, the Town of Snowflake and the City of Mesa related to SB1487 and any future related lawsuits arising out of SB 1487. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The League of Arizona Cities and Towns has formed a Joint Litigation Group of cities and towns with generally aligned legal interests in challenging SB1487 and defending against any lawsuit brought against a city of torwn for violation fo SB1487. In summary, SB1487 withholds shared revenue from cities and towns that are found by the Attorney General to have violated state law.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
