TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on ratifying a change order, in an amount not to exceed $34,800, to Visus Engineering Construction, Inc. for construction-related to improvements on Lexington and Roosevelt Avenues.  Funding for this change order will be paid from Half Cent County Road Tax Fund, Improvements Other Than Buildings, Roosevelt & Lexington Drainage (30044146-67730-34003).  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

On November 3, 2015, Council awarded Visus Engineering Construction, Inc. a contract for construction related to improvements on Lexington and Roosevelt Avenues.  This change order adds a construction contingency and will provide paving and drainage modifications, which will make the roadway function more efficiently, as well as alley modifications to help ingress and egress for the residents.

Lexington Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue, where the two roads intersect in the Heritage Overlay District, are minimally paved roads with no roadway drainage.  With funding through a Community Development Block Grant, this project will pave the two roads for approximately 1800 linear feet and install drainage improvements where necessary to intercept road runoff and convey storm water to the retention basin.

This item will be presented by William P. Fay, Public Works Director/City Engineer.
