AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
On January 7, 2015 the City of Maricopa posted an RFP for Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-Off Station Operation (RFP 15CM122314). That RFP closed on January 20 at 2:00 p.m. The RFP selection process has been concluded and Waste Technologies LLC (Right Away) has been deemed the most responsive applicant.

Based on the requirements of the RFP and the proposal provided by Right Away, staff has negotiated a contract containing the following deal points:

Right Away will:
· Set up and operate a household recycling drop off site that will be open 6 hours on Saturdays
· Accept at a minimum paper, cardboard, plastics (#1-#7), aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles, appliances, and tires at no charge
· Accept bulk trash at a rate of no higher than $15.00 per yard or $5.00 per bag
· Be allowed to offer additional recycling related services
· Hold household hazardous waste events based on future approval of funding by the City at a rate of $30,000 per event - maximum of two per year

The City will:
· Provide Right Away a two acre site within the City for operations
· Pay Right Away $10,000 per month for services provided at the site
