AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Awesome Foundation supports the Arts and Sciences and supports activities that contribute to technology, arts, social welfare, and beyond.  Projects have consisted of public artwork, mobile applications, and scientific experiments.  In addition, projects must challenge and expand individual and communal potential, bring communities together, or spark and interest of joy and delight. The funding agency is particularly interested in projects involving dinosaurs. The Awesome Foundation for Arts and Science is a growing world-wide network of people. The foundation was created in 2009 in Boston and distributes a series of monthly $1,000 grants to projects and their creators. The money is pooled together from approximately ten self-organizing "micro-trustees" and advanced to successful applicants.

The City of Maricopa would like to offer its residents a safe recreational camp for youth age 6-12 during the summer months.  This summer program will take place from May 29th through June 28th for 5 hours a day, 4 days a week.  The planned activities will include games, sports, arts & crafts, guest speakers, and special events. The program also provides trained staff members and job opportunities for teens. During science week, a dinosaur theme curriculum will be offered.
