TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, determining a need to acquire certain fire apparatus using a financing agreement and authorizing the City’s Chief Financial Officer to execute any documents necessary to acquire the necessary fire apparatus and obtain financing therefore. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Due to the growth of the City, the capital improvement plan timelines for new fire stations, and the current long lead times in the acquisition of fire trucks, the City has determined that a need exists to purchase three fire apparatus; specifically one EMAX Clean Cab EZTRAC 4x4 Rescue Pumper and two EMAX Clean Cab Rescue Pumpers (collectively the “Fire Apparatus”) to meet the needs of future station locations as well as current in service unit replacements.
Due to the costs of acquiring the Fire Apparatus, the City has determined that entering into a financing agreement is in the best interest of the City of Maricopa. The City desires to designate the City’s Chief Financial Officer to execute any necessary documents related to the purchase of the Fire Apparatus or the financing therefore. City Council has determined that a true and very real need exists for the acquisition of the Fire Apparatus and that entering into a financing agreement with Tax-Exempt Leasing Corp. and/or its assignee lending institution for the purchase of the Fire Apparatus is in the best interest of the City of Maricopa and its residents.
These approved capital purchases are viewable on the Capital Improvement Plan as project numbers 40117, 44043 and 44063.
