AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
On May 17 the City Council unanimously voted to adopt Planning Maricopa: Shaping Our Community, the City of Maricopa’s 10 Year General Plan Update. Planning Maricopa is now awaiting ratification by the residents of the City in the general election that will be held on November 8, 2016. In an effort to educate the public regarding this document so that they may make an informed decision in the general election, planning staff has developed a web based version of the document, which can be found at www.planningmaricopa.com <http://www.planningmaricopa.com>. This website is based on the paper document, but is designed to help walk the reader through the information in an incremental, easy to navigate manner, along with interactive mapping that illustrates the text and charts. Staff will present this website to City Council and to the public and give a brief demonstration on its capabilities and how to utilize it.
